64 Blake Road was the home of Benjamin (1895-1956) and Bessie (1890-1987) Svetkey and their family, natives of Odessa, Russia who came to the U.S. in 1912 and 1916 respectively. Benjamin , a World War I veteran, had attended night classes at MIT and studied at General Electric’s apprentice school. He was an engineer and the owner of the Bees Manufacturing Company, a maker of machine parts located in South Boston.
