The first residents were Samuel and Lena Heller who moved here from Dorchester. Samuel Heller was a leather merchant. Born in Russia c1893, he came to the U.S. in 1908. He and his wife Lena (born in New York c1900) had two children. Their daughter Trudy and her husband Myer H. Shuman were listed with them at this address in 1946. Myer Shuman, who had been in the Army Air Corps in World War II, worked for his father-in-law's business, Heller Leather.
Membes of the Heller family were listed at this address from 1942 until the early 1970s.
